(Summary description)On September 26, 2018, the on-site observation and appraisal of new rice varieties in Jiangsu Province jointly organized by Jiangsu Seed Management Station and Jiangsu Seed Industry Association was grandly held in Jiangsu (Taizhou) Modern Agriculture (Rice and Wheat) Comprehensive Demonstration Base. More than 200 experts, leaders and large farmers from various cities, districts, seed management stations, scientific research and breeding units, and seed companies in the central Jiangsu region of the province participated in the event. A total of 19 new rice varieties participated in this observation appraisal, including 14 late-maturing medium japonica varieties and 5 late-sown varieties in Huainan. All varieties have been approved by Jiangsu Province and planted in suitable areas in Jiangsu Province. The on-site observers unanimously agreed that the growth of each variety this year is very good, and the characteristics of each variety can be fully reflected.
